Before we start on AWS, I want to make sure you are familiar with the characteristics of cloud computing. This will only be a small percentage of what you will learn about in future blogs. After learning these characteristics, you will understand AWS more clearly.

Firstly,

What is Cloud Computing ?

Cloud computing is an on-demand delivery service for compute storage, database storage, Applications, and other features. In other words, you can say that cloud computing is the delivery of computing as a service rather than a product.

Consider the following scenario: Suppose you are buying an automobile, which is your product, and you are delivering a service by giving that car oil or gasoline. The cloud is simultaneously offering us services in the IT area, and we are utilizing those services to build applications and other products.

Characteristics of Cloud Computing

On-demand

We are all aware that cloud services are quickly delivered. We can now request to the cloud as well, which is the best part. If we want servers in AWS, for instance, we only need to mention it, and they will provide us those servers within an instance. Similarly, if we need extra storage space, They will provide us with those facilities at a low cost.

Broad Network access

With any device, we can access our data from anywhere in the world. For instance, if we were in the Mumbai region and we created a blog that was hosted in the cloud because of work, we would have to transfer to the Virginia region, and no matter where we go, we would always have access to our data.

Resource Pooling

Public cloud providers such as AWS have infrastructure resources in many data centers(Availability Zones or AZs) which already have servers, cooling systems, network connections, and so on. With those, they are giving us all the services which we need in a single cloud platform that is AWS web console in a single place we will be getting services needed such as servers, Networking, storage services, and so on at a low cost.

Rapid Elasticity

There are services in the AWS cloud which has the ability to Automatically scale such services like compute and storage.

Think for an instance suppose you have an e-commerce site that will receive traffic more in a day which needs 20 servers and low at night he will be needing 10 servers, So based on that site will scale up and scale down which will be provided by the cloud providers. Also, think as a rubber band how it stretches according to our preference, So, same as in the IT field cloud allows users to scale up and scale down based on the Internet scale.

Measured Service

You only pay for the services you actually use in the cloud, which is known as a measured service.

Suppose you are working for a company and you are using an EC2 Virtual Instance in AWS. You suddenly wish to take a break and need a cup of coffee. What you could do is stop the machine, Which would also effectively stop the money charges. Following your break, you would once again start the machine. Your charges will begin simultaneously.

In simple terms, You pay only for what you use.

That's it, for now, we will talk more about other topics in the next blog.

Hope you liked it. Will see you on the next topic 😃
